Writoids don't write,
So, we are AGAINST WRITOIDS.
Technology should not drive our lives,

nor compose our dreams.

We, writers, claim for our rights as authors and professionals.

What We Do

As a federation, we reunite the visions and interests of 49 organizations of 31 countries in Europe, not only regarding AI, but the many challenges we face daily, as copyright issues, freedom of speech, cultural policy, or cultural exchange. We are the biggest federation of the world defending solely the rights of authors and, with them, the rights of readers, citizens and ultimately, democracy. We launch special projects like freeallwords.org to publicise the works of Ukrainian and Belarusian writers, that are now in very difficult situations because of the war and the ferocious dictatorship in Belarus. We are  Human writers defending other human writers. Other human beings. Support us. Get in touch

HOW THIS PROJECT WAS BORN

European Writers Council launched this project to make society aware of the perils engaged in artificially compiled texts that pretend to substitute, by imitating them, those written by humans. As any other artistic profession, we live out of our creations: allowing writoids to substitute us means losing the power of human voice and thinking. Uniformity, lack of opportunities to novel human writers, exploitation of bad paid workers to feed the algorithm, a lack of understanding and even knowledge among those entitled to shape the future of written culture.
